Safety for chats, cons, and first meets

Adult tools on the site, plus the ordinary rules that actually get you home.

Furry Dating is 18+ adult dating. Safety here is practical, not theatrical. The platform screens content on upload, watches for odd behaviour, and gives you tools to shut a conversation down. You still make the call about who you meet, where you meet, and what you share. That split matters. A badge does not walk you home. A report does not replace a public cafe.

Age and identity

This site is for adults. Age assurance uses automated checks, with extra review when something looks off. If you are not 18, you do not belong here.

ID verification is optional. You can submit a government ID and, if it clears, a visible badge appears on the profile. That badge is there so other people can see the account is tied to a genuine adult, which reduces catfishing. Video verification is a live check with moderators for people who want authenticity without passing documents. Admin profile validation is a human review of the profile itself, again without requiring sensitive documents. None of these replace your own judgment. They make it harder for a throwaway account to pose as a person you already trust.

What the public profile actually shows

Your real name and email are not shown publicly. Pick a username that does not double as your work Slack handle, your legal name, or the login you use everywhere else if you want a clean split. Stalking and "I found you on three other sites" both get easier when the same string follows you around.

Location privacy shows a nearest town or city, never your exact address or a live pin. Do not type your street, your hotel room, or your shift times into a public bio. If a conversation needs a meetup spot, share it in chat after you have a reason to trust the other person, and share a public venue, not your front door.

Chats that stay on the rails

Keep early talk on the site. Off-platform contact alerts watch for the usual "add me on WhatsApp right now" push, which is a common scam pattern. Moving to another app is not automatically a crime. Rushing you there before you have had a normal conversation is a warning. So is a story that needs money, gift cards, crypto, a travel loan, or a photo you would not want forwarded.

Do not send nudes to a profile you have not verified in some adult way. Explicit image protection blurs potentially sensitive images and warns you before you open them, so you are not ambushed. You can still choose to look. You can also leave.

Instant blocking removes that person from your world: they cannot contact you or see you. Reporting sits next to it. Use both. User ratings and one-click feedback give other people a read on how someone behaves. They are a signal, not a guarantee. A high rating does not mean you skip a public first meet.

What happens behind the thread

Images, video, and text are screened on upload with automated tools and human review, so a lot of junk never reaches you. Behaviour monitoring looks for patterns that match scammers, bots, or people who are here to harass. A swift takedown policy covers requests to remove unauthorised or harmful content, including photos you did not consent to have posted. None of that is a promise that nothing bad will ever appear. It is a promise that the default is to act, not to wait for a pile of complaints.

Infrastructure is PCI-compliant cloud hosting with SSL encryption for profiles, messages, and payments. Industry safety work is aligned with the Online Dating and Discovery Association. Human support is staffed around the clock by chat, phone, and messaging. Safe dating reminders also sit in the product so the basics are not a scavenger hunt.

First meets in the real world

Meet in public. Tell a friend the time, the place, and the profile name. Arrange your own transport. Stay sober enough to leave. Do not get into a car with someone you just met. Do not let someone walk you to a second location you did not choose. If the person in front of you does not match the photos, you can say so and go. You do not owe a polite hour to a lie.

Share a live location with a trusted friend if that is your habit. Check in when you get home. If something feels wrong in the first five minutes, trust that. Block the account later, from a place you control.

Money does not belong on a first date with a stranger from the internet. Not a loan, not a "stuck at the station" story, not a commission paid up front to a person you have never video-called. Artists and suit makers exist, and they have shops. A dating profile is not a shop.

Conventions

Cons are public and crowded, which helps, and chaotic, which does not. Treat a con meet like any other first date: a named place, a named time, a way out. Hotel lobbies, food courts, and official meet tables beat a random room party. Read the con's code of conduct. Respect photography rules, headless lounges, and handlers. Do not follow someone to their room. Do not advertise your own room number in a public channel or on your profile.

If you are in suit, agree on that before you travel. A full suit limits vision, hearing, and how fast you can leave. Have an out-of-suit plan, water, and a person who knows you are meeting a date. If the other person wants you in character the entire time and you do not, say no before you board a train.

Long distance

A lot of furry dating crosses borders because the fandom does. Video is the simplest reality check. Shared convention calendars are the usual way people finally stand in the same room. Until then, keep money, legal documents, and spare keys out of the chat. A person who cannot ever turn on a camera, after weeks of talk, is asking you to date a story.

If you do travel, book your own room. Tell someone your itinerary. Meet first in a public part of the con or the city, not at the airport pickup curb with a stranger holding a sign.

If something goes wrong

Block. Report. Save screenshots if you need them for the report. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services, not a dating site. Support can remove accounts and content. Support cannot send a patrol car.
